In your careful consideration regarding application submission to Top Dog Communication, there are a few things of which you must be aware. If your organization were to become a client, we ask that one consistent representative serve as a contact person for the duration of the semester. This includes a few (typically 3-4) in-person meetings as well as responding to e-mails and phone calls in a timely manner. This ensures that the students are able to stay on track with the project. Also, we ask that clients sign a waiver at the first meeting stating that all work produced can be used by the students to showcase in their respective portfolios for potential employers or for award competitions. Finally, our clients are responsible for all legal aspects of the communication as well as printing and other costs associated with material distribution. Although Top Dog Communication provides workable electronic files to our clients, we can not absorb print costs. Such printing is done in the sole discretion of the client.
Our work is pro bono and the students sign a waiver that states that they will not expect or accept payment in any form. Finally, please understand that this project entails the students working all semester to try and meet one objective as determined by our respective clients. For instance, an organization may want students to "increase volunteers" or to "gain awareness of college students" or to "increase media coverage". Whatever the objective is, the students strategize to meet the objective and then construct many communication tools to try and make it happen. It should be remembered that they are students and that an objective should never be something that must be met for an organization to sustain itself. We find high client satisfaction rates when these objectives are things that the organization may not have time for, or lacks the manpower to do themselves.
At the end of the process, it is an expectation that the client will complete a survey about the experience.
If you have questions, please do not hesitate to ask. If you wish to submit an application form, one is attached. Remit by May 14 for the fall semester of the respective year. Remit by November 14 for the spring semester of the respective year. We ask to keep all application forms for future semesters for consideration. You, however, have this option on the form. Thanks for your interest in Top Dog Communication and have a wonderful day!
